Hi! I bought an unfinished pine bookcase and want to cover the backing with a wallpaper I have but I cannot, for the life of me, get the backing off.
The backing is a lighter thinner composite with thick staples keeping it in place. It had a few screws that were easy to remove but the staples will not come out! I'm worried I'll end up damaging the solid wood of the bookcase. I've used needlenose pliers, flatheads, an awl, a normal staple remover... they won't budge!
Does anybody know of a tool or process to remove the staples? I could break and replace it but I'd still have to deal with the staples! Help!
