A friend brought a solid wood (not sure what type) table with some inlay to me. It suffered some heat damage from a hot dish which resulted in a cloudy white stain, which she treated with a hot iron (suggestion she found online).
The cloudy stain is gone, but now there is some blistering (perhaps the wrong term in all honesty) in the finish in it's place. Tried for pictures but I don't have the camera for it. Essentially what I'm looking at is tiny splits along the wood grain, looks a lot like wood that's been sanded very finely, then gotten wet and swollen, leaving a rough texture, but it only seems to be in the finish.
Any help greatly appreciated, I'm quite capable of repairing it, but unsure of how to go about doing so.
