Repairing De-laminated Plywood

I recently acquired some valuable chairs that were designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in the 1960s. Unfortunately, they need complete restoration. My immediate concern is what to do with the bent plywood legs, which are in really bad shape. I'm pretty confident that I can replace the chipped and torn veneer on the outside so that they will look decent. But I'm not sure what to do about the de-lamination. Would it hold if I simply glued and clamped the plywood back together? Wood glue is amazing stuff, but chair legs take a lot of weight and stress, and I'd hate to have dinner guests end up on the floor. Is there some special glue or procedure to this this? I sure hope they're salvageable because they're really cool.
