Refinish over Watco Danish Oil

I have an oak bookcase that was finished with natural Watco danish oil, the piece looks great, but my wife wants to change the look of the room, so she has asked if we could refinish it in mahogany. I've thought about Polyshades which I've never used, but I've read that it can stain very unevenly. I won't really have much time to work on this, so if I don't have a good method, I'll just move the bookcase.

Any thoughts on a good way to do this,
