Re: Kitchen Cabinets

Thank you for responding to my post. I also don't know what the finish is but it was sprayed on 30 years ago. I hope the pics help.

Kitchen Cabinets

Our kitchen cabinets are 30 years old and as you can imagine the doors have places where the finish is worn off. How can I add a bit of color and finish to those areas without redoing the whole door?

Color matching

I was given a cherry tilt top table base that had no top. I have made a top and need to color it to match the base. I have tried, on samples, mixing stains but can't get enough color to stay on the wood to match the base. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Are there any workshops available where I...

Tim,

Thank you for your suggestions. If I apply a top coat with a dark stain to match the existing stained areas, won't the stained areas be darker than the areas where the stain is worn off?

Refinishing

I have 4 old cafe, bentwood chairs that need some work. They don't have any antique value but I want to refinish them so they will be nice to use as extra chairs on the deck. One of the chairs is oak but I'm not sure what the others are. They have a very dark stain on them and it is mostly worn off ...

Paul,

Thank you for your comments. If I use a water-base gel stain, can still I top coat with Nitrocellulose Lacquer?

Coloring Mahogany

I have a Dressing Table (not valuable) that needed the top stripped. I have done so and am trying to match the color to the rest of the piece. I have started with a"Minwax Puritan Pine" stain to give it a base of yellow and black. I need to add some red and have tried to do this with Bartleys Gel St...
